On September 12, 2015, the prisoners at Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing began to band together for what would be called one of the deadliest prison fights in state history.

The Mabel Bassett Correctional Center will offer inmates the opportunity to enroll and graduate from cosmetology school, beginning on September 1. 

In an attempt to reduce its prison population, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections is developing a program that would release low-risk offenders into the community under supervision. 

It's been more than a year and a half since executions in Oklahoma were halted - forced by the discovery of a pharmaceutical mistake in the high-profile case of Richard Glossip. 

With six schools in Oklahoma City school district potentially set to be closed or consolidated, questions are now being raised about what happens to the millions of tax payer dollars there were supposed to be doled out.
